Demolition at the Civil Engineering Heavy Equipment Repair Facility, Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford, MA

Contract # W912WJ-05-C-0011

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project at the Hanscom Air Force Base included the demolition of five buildings, extensive asbestos abatement, removal of two underground fuel storage tanks, and the capping and complete removal of all the site’s utilities. More than 20,000 square feet of asbestos-containing material were safely and effectively removed, from the exteriors of three of the five buildings.

Several unknown buried building foundations and structures were uncovered, removed and disposed of by Classic, during the demolition of the buildings and the utility removal process.

Classic built a collaborative team with our partners from the Army Corps of Engineers. Good communications and coordination of the scheduling and phasing of the work, enabled us to complete the project ahead of schedule, saving the client both time and money.
