Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, Bushkill, PA
Contract # C2000103700
This design-build project was located within the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area, and is part of the 32-mile long Joseph M. McDade Recreational Trail. This particular section of proposed trail traverses a sensitive section of wetland and consists of numerous terrain elevation changes.
Work consisted of designing, furnishing, and installing an elevated pedestrian Boardwalk. The boardwalk was built 6 feet wide and covered approximately 395 linear feet in length, and included a 100 square foot viewing platform. The structure was constructed out of fiberglass and weathered steel (viewing platform) with a pressure treated yellow pine wood deck. The structure was elevated by concrete footings that were formed and poured in place as well as helical piles that were drilled into the ground.
