Agency: National Park Service
Contract # P10PC60497; Task Order P13PD02949
The Work consisted of pavement management of the roads, parking areas, and pullouts within the Valley Forge National Historic Park. The work included paving, chip seal
treatment, spot repairs, new striping, pavement markings and new curbs along over a mile of road surface. In addition to the roadways an extensive system of new sidewalks were installed or replaced while keeping access to the parks buildings for visitors open and safe. A new pavilion structure was built complete with new electrical power and storage/recycle building that was built with matching materials and colors to the new bathroom facility on the Yellow Springs Trail (another Classis project). Demolition of a parking lot and the restoration of grass to the site along with a specialized GeoBlock fire lane built invisibly into the newly reclaimed grassy area for the new pavilion presented a seamless look while providing access by heavy fire fighting apparatus to the surrounding buildings in case of any emergency situation.
